My name is Drew Meger and I'm the Head of Circulation for the Peabody Institute of Danvers. I've been working in libraries since I was in high school. Shelving books got me beer money in college and a job when I graduated. I worked at Harvard Business School for awhile and then Suffolk University after that, usually in the Access Services realm.
Obviously, I'm super aware of how the internet never forgets, so just let me be clear that nothing I write here is the official opinion or stance or whatever of any person or organization but me. Just as obviously, I'm not an idiot and will attempt to refrain from acting as such.
Mainly, I want this blog to be about me trying to wrap my head around my responsibility for buying fiction for the library, but I can see it branching out into other realms as needed. I've not done much collection development outside of checking required textbooks off of lists before, so this is all still pretty new to me.
